I used to go to the roller disco at the English Riviera Centre in Torquay (after it moved from the Town Hall). It was flipping great (even though I'm a crap skater)! We used to play Bulldog which was even more dangerous, I know someone who broke his arm doing it.

Oh, and the original Town Hall disco was featured on one of those I *heart* the 80s programmes on the BBC. I think I even saw the guy who took my virginity!

about 10 years ago i used to go to one in my town, but it was nothing like the kind you see on tv, it was a huge, dimmly lit hall with about 150 kids just going round in a circle for 3 hours while a dj played "children of the night" and other poor dance songs. there's a guy in leeds who rides round on rollerboots and he does cool dance moves while he's riding along. he's brilliant

They were taken over by street scrubbing youths, which scared away the paying customers.
