and he was really drunk, when he left he crashed into my mail box and smashed it to pieces, i called him up at his house and told him he owes me a new mail box.

i know this guy from a horse club i`m in.

what else if anything can i do if he dosen`t replace the mail box?

Tough one there. If you've known him for a long long time and you asked for money to fix the mail box when he was 'Sober' with no luck and-- he is drunk a lot, you should file a legal complaint with the PD. It's that or blow if off and swallow the loss.

(If he's generous when looped you could try and get the money from him then - perhaps. YA never know!).

If he doesn't replace it, the only thing you can do is file a court action against him, such as small claims court. However, this would create bad feelings and you would be reminded of it each time you see him at the horse club. So, you will have to decide what is the most important issue to you - collecting the money from him to fix it and having ill feelings at the horse club or just forgetting about it and move on.
