I might be getting one if they are cheap enough.... can you please answer these?

1.) How much do they cost?

2.) What kind of food do they eat?

3.)What is their lifespan?

4.) Can they be with other tropical fish?

5.) Can you give me a website and more info???? I really want to know more!!!!

1) Well, I have seen batches of 50 eggs for sale on Ebay for as low as $15. Liveaquaria.com sells pairs for $30-$40 each. So, the cost varies with common varieties and eggs sold for less. Mated pair adult fish and rarer varieties selling for more.

2) They will eat normal tropical fish food, flakes and such but they like live foods like brine shrimp and daphnia. To get them into breeding condition you would use lots of live foods.

3) The annual species (the ones that live in puddles that dry up in a few months in the wild) will only live about a year in an aquarium. Not all killies are annuals, though. Non-annual killies would live a few years.

4) Most killie people keep the killies by themselves. They certainly do not mix closely related species because creating hybrids is frowned upon (it is best to keep what strains we have pure in case wild populations become extinct and these are the only ones left). They probably could be mixed with other fish that have similar requirements.

Note that there a large number of different types of kill fish.

1)$2-$50 dependng on type and where you buy.
2)They are carnivores who eat insects in nature. Betta flakes, freeze dried blood worms and brine shrimp.
3)Only 3-5 years. (Normal for small tropical fish.)
4)Yes they should do okay with other tropicals. Depending o the type of killi they may be territorial with other killi.

the cost is about 1.50-4.00 depending where you go. they eat worms, fish food, and mosquito larvae. yes thay can be with other fish. it all depends on what kind of killifish you want to determine some of these things but try this link has every thing you need to know about them and the different kinds
