A nice thank you card and maybe a plant but nothing extravagant.

I have never heard of giving the person giving you a shower a gift. Really just a nice thank you note after the shower is all that is needed. If you feel you want to do something for her, maybe give her a little something extra at Christmas from the baby?

I do not believe it is common to give the host a gift. Giving your friend gifts are acceptable as she is expecting as well. I think it is your personal preference as a "thank you" gesture. However, I do not think your sister in law is expecting anything. By the way, CONGRATS!!

My sis in regulation threw me a touch one bathe as well. It develop right into a huge fulfillment. I were given each and every thing lower than the solar. Crib, stroller, intense-chair, diapers, wipes, clothing, burp rags, rattles, different toys, toddler wash products, some thing that would want to correctly be idea-about for a touch one. It develop right into a huge fulfillment. i did not ought to purchase some thing for a year except I ran out of diapers at 4 mths.. except that... no longer a unmarried merchandise! We were interior even as the adult males attended to the little ones outdoors. We did such issues as make a touch one weight guess chart and whomever were given closest received a funds prize. We exchanged memories about confusing paintings, waters breaking, breastfeeding, formula, and childrearing. We ate till we popped. It develop into an unforgettable journey for me. i have been to three showers and none of them even got here on the point of mine. I had soo a lot of human beings come to my bathe they had to sit down down on the floor and some had to be in yet another room (open section, yet truly a diverse room). I wish you've a useful bathe, healthful toddler, and congrats on being MOMMY !!!!!

Get her a gift certificate to a local Day Spa. My brother got me and my mom as a birthday gift. It was great!
Good luck and congratulations!

If you wanted to give her a simple gift, you could get her a gift card....or you could get her some candles, or some pictureframes (they usually have cool ones at the store with cool little quotes on them.)
