One that looks better on the neighbors side of the fence. When you put up a fence it has to look better when viewed from the neighbors side. In most cities they need to be approved by the building inspectors.

One that is not unsightly, 8 feet tall, or crosses property lines. Its okay to want soem privacy but some people take it as rude that you want build a huge fence to fend them off. I personally, think its your own darn business what kind of fence you want to put up. Growing up we had chain link fences and I remember my mother being outside talking to the neighbors over the fence. Now they have huge wooden fences that make all human interaction nearly impossible. I recommend a wooden fence that is not so imposing, allows for neighborly contact, but still has privacy if you want to go lay out.
