it is clearly stated in the bhagavad gita.
our soul consists of five sense organs and our mind co-ordinates their activities to sustain soul in our body.
soul is actually a form of energy.
the five sense organs are analogous to 5 horses and their reins
constitute the aatma or the soul and these reins are held by the mind.

You should receive a very different answer under "religion" than under "other-science" as you may suspect. Under science, it would be difficult to prove the existence of the mind or soul using double-blind scientific experiments that would convince the majority of scientists that either exactly and repeatedly conform with any ones exact yet complex definition. For example, scientists can run experiments that prove beyond reasonable doubt that an iron atom possesses a certain number of electrons orbiting about it. Because it is problematic to communicate with the dead, it is impossible to "prove" that the soul survives the mind. The concept of mind is a useful tool in dealing with human behavior. Yet it is not (yet?) possible to examine a dissected brain and say this is part of the mind and this is not. Remember that even the olfactory nerves in your nose are a direct extension of your brain (and were essential to the survival of nocturnal rodents preceding humans). The study of the mind (with many disparate schools of thought) is at best a "soft" science rather than a "hard" science that can be replicated in any competent laboratory. Yet many distinguished scientists have believed in the concepts of mind and soul without feeling the need to dissect them. Hope that helps a little.

The Mind exists, but the Soul doesn't. The mind is the sum of mental activities performed by the brain. The soul is a mythical alter-ego that isn't material. There is no scientific evidence to support the existence of such a thing.

SOUL:
1.The soul does not exist preceding this life.
2.The soul has a one-shot chance of salvation. It is judged at end of this life and either goes to heaven or hell, except for children who have died before they can be baptised, who go to limbo, or hell if you believe St Augustine.
3.Souls which have entered heaven do not return to earth.
MIND:
1.The mind has had countless previous lives.
2.If the mind does not achieve enlightenment in this life, or enter a Pure Land at death, it will have further rebirths.
3.The minds of all sentient beings have Buddha seed or potential Buddha nature.

There is no difference, because neither exists. Try to find a soul or a mind on an anatomical chart.

Puting it precise and not taking much space - Soul is the untransformable iota of the creator that retains its conscience throughout its existence whatever mortelcoil it takes, while mind is the thought process based on the learning one undergoes through during short lifespan.
Thats it.
