Make some hair sticks with Japanese designs, or a headdress.

That's all I can think of right now.

If you can imitate a Japanese-style painting, perhaps you also paint a Geisha in traditional white face with a fan, in a traditional kimono but make sure the obi is NOT tied in the front (that would connote a prostitute). Also illustrate a small table, with very short legs, and a tea set, to denote a Japanese tea ceremony for which they are also very famous for.

There are small, about 12" tall, "Geisha dolls" sold in souvenir shops; it would be nice if you could take a few photos of some of these dressed in colorful kimonos. They also sell very inexpensive paper fans, which you can use to explain about the use of the fan.

Or, perhaps you can obtain a few travel posters from travel agencies that specialize in promoting Japan.

Good luck and best wishes.

I assume that you have already explored the wood block prints from Japan. You might try making a print. That would be very much in keeping with Japanese art of the Edo Period. The only other thought I had was: make a fan. Very artistic way to focus on one item of Japanese geshia culture. Japanses calligraphy or oragami are part of this tradition too. Does that give you some ideas?
