I have never been hunting but have worked with ppl who do,I have been shooting but only clay targets, also been riding,Now we in the UK have the pc brigade on again about pheasant shooting ect,I support fox hunting because now its been outlawed the fox population is being decimated by ppl with rifles.
I f it wasnt for the folk who breed pheasants for shooting you would never see a pheasant in the wild.
Isnt it time the anti hunt ppl drew thier horns in and mind thier own buisness or how long before they outlaw horse riding as cruel to horses.Methinks they go to far idiots dont realise its in everybodies interests to keep country persutes going for the good of all and a healthy population of wildlife,I live in the UK.

I am probably going to upset people with this but here goes, I have always supported fox hunting and always will, foxes are now been killed by poison and rifle because of over population of them, what was crueler, been chased by dogs or been poisoned and shot, I support pheasant shooting, its not like they just kill them and leave them on the ground to rot, they are gathered up and eaten or sold to butchers for others to buy as meat, they are part of the English traditions and because the PC brigade has put a halt to fox hunting many people have lost their livelihood and had to have their packs of dogs destroyed too, in my opinion that is as cruel, destroying dogs just because they can no longer go on a hunt and taking peoples life's off them, for goodness sake they will be out shooting farmers who rear cow, sheep and hens for us to eat next, the PC brigade need to move on up and out because they are destroying our country and its traditions.

The whole point of being anti-blood sport is is not to do with keeping vermin numbers down its about stopping animals being tortured and killed for the entertainment of humans. If farmers have a problems with foxes they can shoot them why chase them across the fields for hours and then throw them to be torn apart by a pack of dogs? And as for bull fighting well... hows it a fight? The poor bull doesn't stand a chance! Its barbaric. If they want to kill something that bad why not volunteer themselves and see how they like it.

Rant over...

Like one of the others here I'm not against hunting if it's for food and/or other products of the animal, unless it endangers the species' suvival.

Huntig for entertainment is wrong. The crowd who does it in England consists mainly of well-off snobs.

If it's not about having fun seeing a creature tortured to death how come they are so against using artificial trails, where they could have their fun riding and exercising their dogs without the cruelty?

anti-bloodsports isn't against the vermin population being kept down. although i would rather no animals lost their lives and were shot i would still rather they were shot and their lives ended quickly rather than chased for miles and then have a slow and painful death being mauled by 20 dogs.
i would also rather that pheasants were extinct than bred specifically so that they can be scared enough to try and fly away only to get shot.
this isn't a PC issue - its a cruelty issue, and if you are against torturing humans then why are you not against torturing animals who are unable to defend themselves and speak up against the inhuman treatment they receive at the hands of people who apparently care about the wildlife and the countryside?

I have never killed or hurt an animal in my life, but when they banned fox hunting I wasn’t happy about it, it was an English tradition (ok for posh people) like bull fighting is a Spanish tradition. Some people have nothing better to do than protest against anything that suites them and get new laws introduces for the hell of it.

I'm all for hunting if it's to use the animal for meat along with the by products of bone and fur etc (I'm anti the killing JUST for fur). I'm a meat eater so to be anti-hunting animals to eat them would be dumb.

However, those that go out just for the fun of shooting dead a living creature... I think they are wrong in the head.

Glad they stopped fox hunting and other barbaric blood sports they belong in the middle ages along with badger baiting, bear baiting and other anachronisms.

"Moth" says that it would be more humane for farmers to shoot foxes etc. and "Mad Professor" says that it would be more humane to trap them. Imagine an animal being shot and wounded and suffering a lingering death in agony. and imagine the agony an animal suffers when it is trapped.

I totally disagree with you. It is wrong to terrorise and kill anything for entertainment.

If any animal has to culled for any reason (and I seriously doubt that they do) then it should be done humanely using traps.
