Absolutely and positively NOT. They're done for the sake of entertainment. They're like the horoscope that you read which applies to everyone... ever read a horoscope before you realized that it was not for your zodiac symbol?
Those supposed personality tests are based on generalities, not specifics. All people have two eyes. All Chinese people speak some Chinese language. All Brits speak English. Get it...? Don't rely or accept generalities as truths or as reliabilities... they ain't! Trust me, we are all so unique that there are even differences in twins and even in our own mirror images (they're an inverse of ourselves) in spite of the similarities.

I've taken a few, and each one came out a little different than the others. I've never taken one that wasnt on the web, so I wouldnt know how well it adds up with the in person ones. However, I do find that they are right when I take them on the web, they all describe me well.

I was told no. I did some myself, for personality disorders. They made me borderline all the times except for one and was told by one of the tests to go see a doctor.
As much as I hate going to the doctor, I don't think they're exactly reliable. No, they're not.

You mean MBTI? To some extent. As much as MBTI is right. Can there really only be 16 personality types in the world? But it can be useful in identifying your strengths and weaknesses for looking for jobs, or finding compatable partners.

do you think that one test with some silly questions can really test someone's personality. whom ever i meet every day i find him/her different. no one can categorise personalities. everyone has a different personality.
no test is reliable no matter how many times it has been tested in labs.
we all are unique.............

i completed my disseration last year which involed the effects of personality traits on overall behaviour. i found that tests were predictable therefore may have subconsiously effected the way both myself and participants answered the questions-nobody wants to be seen as neurotic...lol
