Symonds, he is amongst the top batters as far as skills are concerned.
There is no comparison of Symonds with Pieterson, the latter one is a young gun and he yet have to prove that he is really something serious, knocking a century in one innings and getting out on duck in the other, do keeps your average good but you can't be called a good batsman at all... Symonds is a seasoned player, he has played for years now, its not fair to compare Pieterson with Symonds, let him prove himself and then who knows he may outclass Symonds... so time will give you the best answer (but unfortuantely time never answers on Yahoo Answers.. LOL)

REASONS:-
1) HE IS GOOD ALL AROUND THE WICKET WHERE AS SYMONDS IS ADDICTED TO OFF-SIDE.
2)PIETERSON IS ALTHOUGH LESS BUILT IN PHYSIQUE THAN ANDREW BUT HIS SHOTS ARE FULL OF MIGHT
