I have to give a sample at a doctor's office next week. I read a bit about the test online and what's not clear to me is whether you can use a lubricant when masturbating into a cup. Any experience?

No you shouldn't use anything. It can contaminate the sample.

I've done a few fertility tests myself, and I can say by experience that no, lubricant is not permited.
Your sample must be as clean and free of impurities as much as possible. This is why they give you a cup and ask you to "unload" your specimen in their own area, usually being a public bathroom on that level.
So next time you think some perv is jerking off in the hostipal's bathrooms, remember that he may be also going in for a fertility test!

No. My boyfriend said that they give you these wipes to make sure your privates are as clean as possible. You must also wash you hands right before you do it, with special soap so you don't contaminate the sample. No lube! you wouldn't want to mess with the results.

Yea i've had to do the test and the lubricant will screw the test up.

All men when they want to test themselves they have to give their semen.you need not use lubricate.Imagine your love game .close ur eyes .it will take care what u r to give.

If you have problems without lube, ask the dr. perhaps you can use a condom.
