Yes, I have other things on my mind. But they don't necessarily overwhelm the "friend" part of the relationship because you can keep it under control. But I can honestly tell you that every female friend I've ever had, I've thought of having sex with them at least once. Even the fat ones.

I had a friend in high school named Pam who was very overweight. She was a good person and had a nice personality and in the back of my mind I would always say," If she would lose some weight I'd totally do her."

Seriously.

Anyway, I think this changes for guys as they get older. They start seeking companionship more than sex and so the chances of having a platonic relationship are probably low when you're in your teens to mid 20s but get higher after that as they mature.

I have many female friends and am happily married. At one point or another in the relationship I always become attracted to the girl I'm friends with. I always tell the person I'm attracted to them. However, I've never made advances or cared to. I love and respect my wife/best friend way too much for that. Everytime i've told a female friend I was attracted to them they were very flattered and never once did it put a damper on the friendship. I guess it's in the way I tell them.

I'm a very expressive person the same same I can tell a woman I'm attracted to her I can turn around and call her an a--hole is she so deserves it.

So my friendship are platonic they platonic or not. Well it depends on your perspective. I feel they are because telling someone I'm attracted to them and not acting on that in any way is not a betrayal in my book or my wife's. I realise many women and men are not that secure with themselves and in their relationship that this would be acceptable. I'm very fortunate that my wife and I have that confidence.

This happens when party #2 is not interested in dating party #1. It can also occur if party #1 does not find party #2 physically apealling. It is more likely a woman will not be interested in a guy yet still be friends with him. But if the guy has even the slightest interest in the woman, then that is always in the back of his mind. Of course, he'll behave himself. But if the woman were ever to present herself to him, he will definitely take action especially if he has no other girlfriend. Any of the guys here answering that "sure, it can happen, I have female friends" it is due to the statement in the first couple sentences.

Yeah, there is such a thing. I have a beautiful friend, very sexy one but I only thought once about boning her then I thought that would be a mistake.

I came right out and told her...she admitted to me that she also thought about it but we have so much fun with each other that sex might hurt our friendship.

To be honest, a guy believes that friends can play the humpty pumpty game without compromising the friendship.

assisting somebody in desire is an rather stable component. yet could be we would desire to consistently attempt to be diffused as quickly as we do it - as though its no enormous deal. the guy who gets your help shouldn't sense weighed down via the requirement of gratitude. Then purely they could be loose to you and be like stable friends. otherwise, they are going to nonetheless know you, yet would desire to not handle you like a chum because of the fact they'd sense inferior. What do you think of roughly this?

In general, we just want to get in your pants. That attitude changes as we get older but single men (and many married ones) are looking for an extra special friend.

You can definately have just a platonic relationship with a girl....Lots of guys do. Guys aren't just sex crazed fiends like everyone thinks we are, I mean I have a few girls who are my friends that I don't even think about doing anything more then just being friends with. They just aren't attractive to me like that...they are just better friends, and every guy in his life with have girls who are friends like that.
