The largest mammal on earth today (and the largest animal which has ever lived on this planet) is the Blue Whale.

"The Blue Whale (Balaenoptera musculus) is a marine mammal belonging to the suborder of baleen whales. At up to 30 metres (98 feet) in length and 177 metric tonnes (196 short tons) or more in weight, it is believed to be the largest animal ever to have lived on Earth.[2]"

The blue whale or Sibald's rorqual is the largest mammal on record, and the largest animal of any type on record. No dinosaur has been discovered that is as big as it. The largest land mammal is the African elephant, and second is the Indian elephant. The largest land mammal in history was the indricotherium or baluchatherium that may've weighed as much as 3.25 elephants.
