i dont think love is over-exaggerated, but i think people over-react to their relationships. seriously, half of the "questions" on here are about issues that are so minor in the long run, that i doubt anyone will even remember in a few weeks. people make such a big deal out things that don't need to be. Love itself is a GREAT thing, but its not complex at all. when you are in love, its a quiet, warm, personal joy. of course there are still problems, but you know that things will be ok in the long run because you do love each other, so there is no need to freak out about the little things. you just get thru it, and learn from the experience, cuz you know that while things might be hard from time to time, the relationship is worth it.

in many cases it's just a dependance or fear of being alone. I am lucky enough to have found true love and after three years it's still as amazing as it first was so I'm not a sceptic who believes real love is over exaggerated, I just think it's rare to find the real thing and so many people call it love when it isn't.

Of course you are right.
When we are newly "in love" we see only what we want to see in the person of our affection. We make the person into someone he/she is not. When reality sets in, that's when the complications begin.
