You mean apart from bore you senseless and knacker your knee joints?

I suppose there may be some minor benefits like improved cardiovascular fitness, an endorphin-induced sense of wellbeing, greater energy, and longer life, but come on, don't do it to yourself.

As you will have gathered I find pure exercise extremely dull and arduous - for me exercise has to have a purpose - sport, or transport (I cycle to work)....but we're all different so if it does it for you.....do it!

From a medical point of view, this form of exercise will bring you many benefits, depending on your current state of health. If you are currently obese, such activity will increase your sexual desire/performance, improve your life expectancy, help you achieve a more healthy BMI, lower your blood pressure (which in turn can help reduce your chances of strokes and headaches) as well as many more health benefits. If you are already in good shape, such activity will help you lose those last few pounds, especially if you jog before breakfast (as your body will have to use fat sooner as its primary energy source) however long term running on a hard surface such as tarmac will damage your knees and may cause you some problems with your ankles, good trainers will help (best i know of is the Nike Freeform series which mimics barefoot running and can strengthen your calcaneal tendon which can become weak with standard trainers). Any more questions please feel free to contact me.
