I assume you do not mean a physical message like a card or note, something like that. The best thing you can do is if your "boss" ever comments on your work and it is something good, tell your boss, "you have treated me fair and have been good to me, so I try my best to do my job, and put all my effort in my work as it is my job to do so, and that is what an employee is supposed to do, and I want to do a good job for you" That is not kissing up which you DO NOT want to do as someone who is in charge has heard it all before possibly, and they will see through it. Your boss will get the message, believe me, and it will be to your advantage in the long run.

But, I suggest you check your spelling before you give it to her, otherwise you might be out of a job.
