Safety

A player must not use equipment or wear anything which is dangerous to himself or another player (including any kind of jewellery).

Basic Equipment

The basic compulsory equipment of a player comprises the following separate items:

* a jersey or shirt
* shorts - if thermal undershorts are worn, they are of the same main colour as the
* stockings
* shinguards
* footwear

Shinguards

* are covered entirely by the stockings
* are made of a suitable material (rubber, plastic, or similar substances)
* provide a reasonable degree of protection

Goalkeepers

* each goalkeeper wears colours which distinguish him from the other players, the referee and the assistant referees

Check that the starting 22 don't have rings on the bottom of their boots, do the toss, introduce the two captains to each of the other refs/line attendants, check the condition of the pitch.

check pitch, check equipment such as goals and corner flags and ball size/weight, checks players equipment such as kit they r wearing and boots. checks with linesmen (usualy to do with there version of offside and suchlike)
