I've always thought that... Maybe we can't learn science from children, but we could learn a lot about living fairly from them.
The news was on the other day, there had been another suicide bomb and my 4 year old son asked why. I tried to explain that there are some very bad people out there and he said:
"Why don't they go to their room until they're ready to say sorry." - (that's what I tell him to do when he's naughty.) It was funny, but it also brought tears to my eyes.
Yeah - why don't they???
Here's a poem I wrote a while back for my little sister - she's trying to lose that innocence too fast.
Imagine a world where mermaids can't swim,
Where unicorns are horses in disguise,
And angels do not sing,
Imagine leaving innocence behind,
Imagine life in an adult's mind.
:-)

Yes, absolutely! I think that oftentimes, in leaving childhood, we try to be a little too "grown-up" and we lose the simple trust and enthusiasm that children possess. It's a happy thing if we can find our way back and live with our more mature and responsible mind but still maintain the heart of a child.
Young children are not pretentious. They have no need to try to impress or to be more than they are because they aren't perpetually concerned about what everyone else thinks of them. They don't struggle as we do with false motives and corrupting attitudes.
When they need help they can readily ask for it without feeling ashamed or "less than." They call things as they see them and sometimes speak with brutal honesty.
I think what I appreciate most in children is their sense of wonder - they notice the simple things that we miss in our hurrying and scurrying. We adults sometimes forget what is truly important because we get trapped into what is merely expedient.

We have tons to learn from children. I am a teacher for preschool and one thing children do that most adults don't is that children can disagree and maybe even have a little spat but they getover it quickly. Adults do not get over things as quickly. Children also love unconditionally and we could sure stand to learn that.

Absolutely!
Children are taught to hate and belittle others for being overweight or wearing glasses or having a different color skin. It's really, really sad to think that adults who supposedly have wisdom, can intentionally compromise the sweet soul of a child in that way.

yes i agree - as adults we make decisions on things we have learnt that sometimes are not right. children do not have the experience so will go into a situation open minded.
