what could I do to feel better

OK. You're pessimistic... therefore you don't want to hear good advices that would sound similar to "think positive".

Try this one then: You do something either for yourself or for anybody else, don't expect any compliments or positive outcome. Just leave it be. At least you have done what you have to do, especially if you don't receive or see a favorable outcome. That way you'll be less disappointed or frustrated. But if you get an "unexpected" positive outcome, simply say "thank you... I just did what I thought I should do".

You know, being pessimistic would sometimes prevent you from doing something on a matter, or will make you regret that you should've done or at least tried to do something in the end. Why don't just do whatever you think you should do regardless of the result you'll get in the end? At least you did something which, definitely, you thought was the right thing to do? You just might appreciate your actions later.

find some thing you really enjoy doing and go do it no matter how much it costs or how much time it takes as long as you throughly enjoyed yourself youll feel bettr

go to your Doctor tell him,,,Unload it on him
you will feel better
think about all the positive things what makes you happy do it.
