the pain remains as well as the good memories... but we have to move on. It's okay to feel the pain, to cry and to reminisce those memories but we have to face the truth that he is gone and never will come back again. 3 years has been passed since my father died I still cry whenever i think of him, i still feel the pain. that only measures how much i appreciate and love him.

Star, the pain doesn't ever go away BUT it does fade to a dull ache that is eclipsed by happy memories and a comforting sense of retrospect. You find yourself smiling at a memory instead of experiencing that ache that you normally associate with your thoughts of your loved one. Time may not heal as people like to say, but it certainly lightens the load.
