check out diynet.com. there is a show there called "from junky to funky" that might give you some ideas. HGTV.com has a show called 'decorating cents' that has a segment called 'trash to treasures' which is the same sort of thing. you could try searching the 'trash to treasures' phrase since i think there is a book by that name so a search should give related sites.

there also is a series of organizations called 'freecycle' which is part of yahoo groups and has their own website. it is a place to post anything you have to give away and also to find out what is available from others. a great idea, right?
