If u must build...try the place where u can get some advice especially on measurements like Home Depot or Lowe's. They have experts there with the lumber dept. and if they cannot direct to someone there then something is wrong. They should have kits or where someone can at least tell u where to get 1 u r looking for.

I used to recommend building your own, but the last 3 I have built would have been cheaper to buy for something comparable. I say: Watch tiger direct, get mostly what you want, and add some goodies. Having said that, there is a lot of satisfaction in building your own.

This is really something to find that many all together. For someone like me who is just really starting to get involved with woodworking this was like letting me loose in a candy store and telling me I could have anything I wanted. That was my dream when I was a kid.

Forget MFI & all those places.Decide what you wish to put in there first,then measure ,Go to a reputable timber yard they can plane wood or you can have it rough use your imagination & you will be surprised what you could come up with besides it`s cheaper than paying for things ready made.

Any local cabinet shops in your area? You mite try Walmart,kmart, Target, other wise your local furniture stores or on line. Good luck.

search online for furniture plans. diynet.com has stuff like that but there are loads of woodworking sites that also do.
