The energy released by fusion is three to four times greater than the energy released by fission. This is because the amount of mass transformed into energy is that much greater in a fusion reaction than in a fission reaction.

In general - fusion. However, the amount of energy released in any fission or fusion reaction depends on the elements involved.

In a fusion reaction more energy is obtained than fission. but it is not possible to carry it out in earth as it requires a starting temperature of 600000000 degree celcius.

Fusion, but scientists are finding it hard to isolate the energy efficiently as fusion reactions need highly controlled environments and high input power.

Fusion obtains more energy, but MUCH harder to control. In a nuclear power plant they use fission, only because it's easier to perform and easier to control.
They are also working on developing methods to successfully use fusion, as it yields more power, without raising risk to the people living near these power plants.
