A commonwealth Citizen with the right to be in the UK has thae same rights as a UK citizen to do jobs that are reserved for British Nationals such as Minister jobs. EU nationals, even thought they have the right to live and work in the UK, the DO NOT have the right to take up government jobs such as ministers etc.. The reason for this is because EU citizens don't have enough close relations with the BRITSH government to work for the UK government. The reason why COMMONWEALTH citizens are ALLOWED to work for the UK government is because there country has substantual ties with Britian. This is why legal Commonwealth citizens with the right to live in the UK are allowed to vote in Britain in All elections. EU citizens living in the UK are restricted to vote only in European elections

No. Ministers can only be members of the House of Commons or House of Lords. Only UK citizens can be peers and only UK citizens can stand for Parliament. Although EU citizens living in the UK can vote in local and European elections, only UK citizens can put themselves up for election.

Only people entitled to vote in parliamentary elections can be members of parliament. Ministers of the Crown have first to be members of parliament. EU nationals are NOT entitled to vote in parliamentary elections.
