its hard to come out with an opinion from a book like that, the bible it self is as much fiction as it is truth
i do believe the jesus and mary magdalen part .......we have to realize the bible we know today is only portion of the real thing before i piss the religious nuts out there all im saying is the bible has been rewritten to fit the views of a certain race so we just have to keep in mid that we dont know the whole story of jesus and we should keep an open mind

Yes, and I thought it was very overrated... Okay, so it's not badly written, and it has a decent plot, but it's hardly The Best Book of All Time like some people would have you believe! Maybe if it's the first time you've ever read anything speculative about Jesus or Da Vinci before, you'll fall in love with it too, though...

Yes, I have and I thoroughly enjoyed as a work of fiction. It has a lot of energy and makes for a very good mystery thriller, as well as pointing at many interesting historical points. However, I rate Angels and Demons higher, and after the third, all Dan Brown books as a type - too repetitive although fun to read, and he does keep you guessing.
However, I do not think it is bigger than the hype :) PERSONAL OPINION; DON'T SHOOT!

It is fiction. A good read, but fiction none the less. It takes a collection of historical facts and weaves them into a tapestry of conspiracy. The real danger of this book is that many people believe it is real. Even the author Dan Brown while admitting it's fiction tries to allude to factual accuracy without actually making the claim outright.

I thought it was a great read, page turner and all that. However not long into the book I could feel religious hackles rising...if that was the point of a good read Dan Brown certainly achieved his end. Not to mention the debate that will outlast the novels stay on the bestseller list.

The book was okay. I read an advance copy. I like all the books on the subject both speculative non-fiction and the fiction, but my favorite all time fiction book in this genre is Umberto Eco's "Foucault's Pendulum".

It is a work of fiction. It was fairly entertaining and I have been unable to understand all the furor it caused. I think peple just forgot that it was a novel, not based on fact.. Also it seems to me the media must have had nothing more important to deal with and so just kept hyping it.

Yes I have and I think of it as a very good book. Although it's one of those books that differs so much from one person to another. One loves it and another hates it... I personally liked it a lot.

It was interesting, and kept me reading. Horribly written, though. (For the record, I probably wouldn't have read it had it not been assigned--and there aren't many books I would say that about.)
