a teaspoon of liquid colloidal silver. not sure exactly, but it works great. I attached a website below, you can get it at health food stores and vitamin and supplement places. I have tried it as a very sick person before. another thing, if you are dehydrated, drink half water half Gatorade mix, this will get the fluids back into your system and help your body fight this yuck better. vitamin C can also help.

Hi, I always fill up a bowl with hot water and and a few drops of lemon juice. Put your face over the bowl and put a towel over your head to keep the heat it in (its like having a facial). Breathe deeply through your nose and you will find the lemon juice helps clear up your stuffy nose. Afterwards, make yourself a lovely hot drink and snuggle up with a hot water bottle in front of the TV. You need to relax.

I used to get a cold frequently, but since I have changed my diet to include a lot of fresh fruit and vegetables and replaced soft drinks with fresh fruit juice and water like the doctor recommended, I haven't had a cold since!!!

Best of luck & get better soon :-)

Time and plenty of fluids is the best remedy, but having said that I absolutely swear by echinacea drops in a glass of water (15 drops diluted in water, taken three times daily). It tastes vile, but if your nose is stuffed up, your ability to taste will be off anyway. I also sip a mug of hot water with a tablespoon of honey and freshly squeezed lemon juice in it. Tastes lovely, and it's very good for detoxing all those nasty germs from your system.

Hope you're soon feeling better! :)

Chicken soup and blackcurrant juice, both are really good for you, have you tried taking echinatia tablets from the health stores, they help to cut down on colds before you get them, thing with a cold once you have it the only thing really is to let it run its course.

Go and buy some day nurse and get night nurse for later, will make you feel much better. All the answers about Vit C and fruit should be taken/eaten to prevent a cold, its too late now that you have one they wont help prevent symptoms.

Coddle yourself! Go to bed with a hot-water bottle and a glass of honey and lemon in hot water (and some brandy in it too if you like.)
Keep yourself warm and as comfortable as possible and let the world drift by for a while. Repeat the above until you're feeling better Though you may need to go easy on the brandy, although........you'll be lying down anyway! :)

By day 3 the misery from this cold/flu made me search for alternate remedies. Bought a cool mist humidifier and cranked it to high and stayed in my room. Finally, congestion starting to break. Going back to my room now.

I feel for you, not nice eh.
Stay warm to keep your immune system at its best and keep well hydrated. Hot drinks or soup help clear the air ways. I found that an extra pillow at night helps me breathe normally. Rest well.
hope this helps
