Nothing at all. I had mine removed about a year and a half ago because I had stones in it. After the surgery the pain was gone, but other then that I did not feel any different then before the surgery. So to make a long answer short, nothing happens as far as I know.

They can have more difficulty digesting their food. I wish I'd never had mine removed, it's made my life a lot more difficult. But it's popular with surgeons, they get paid plenty for all these gall-bladder removals (or choecystectomies as they're called). There is plenty of evidence that many, many, procedures are unnecessary, and the primary reason for doing them is to keep surgeons rich. How many women know that they have a much higher chance of stroke if they have a hysterectomy?? (A friend of mine died that way, and I did some research on it.) I would keep away from surgery unless it was desperately necessary.

The procedure to remove the gallbladder is a cholecystectomy (love that big word). What happens is the doc cuts about a 7-inch space in your abdomen to remove the gallbladder. Then the bile transport system is rerouted so that the bile is delivered directly from the liver to the upper part of the intestine. Digestion still works properly in most patients who have undergone a cholecystectomy. The only complications are internal bleeding, infection and diahrrhea. I hope you dont have to have this procedure done, but it it could be a lot worse!

Bile is stored in the gall bladder and released to emulsify dietary fats. Without a gall bladder, the bile is not stored, but released continuously. Some people experience discomfort after fatty meals as they can no longer fully digest fats.

i've got been w/o my gall bladder for virtually 20 years now and fairly lots consume something I please. maximum persons do locate there are a pair of issues your "changed" digestive gadget would not like after surgery. Mine are yogurt and salad dressing (the Miracle Whip stuff). the two will deliver me working to the potty in very short order! The yogurt bugs me because of the fact I do like it yet i've got tried it diverse situations and that's nonetheless a no bypass.
