would like to witness some kind of bird talking (i.e. parrot, mynah bird etc). tried asking this question before on y! answers already and got answers like "go to a zoo" and "try a pet shop". clearly, these aren't very helpful - anyone know of a specific place? or even a specific bird?

Hmm... I went to a koala park in Australia where there were lots of talking birds but that's a long way from London.
Have you tried the London Zoo?
The park at Longleat may be another good bet.
You could try phoning or e-mailing zoos in the phone directory or yellw pages and asking them for details - usally if you contact them in advance a keeper of a particular animal will demonstrate the animal's abiities to you.

London Zoo has no talking birds I'm afraid.
I cant help you find a place that has one, I don't know any, but i can tell you, London Zoo in Regent's park, doesn't have one.

The Tower of London has talking ravens. When I was just standing there, a raven sitting on a fence next to me said hello. I had a hard time trying to convince my sister (who was with me) that it was the raven and not a person talking to us but I subsequently looked it up on the internet (to make sure I wasn't going crazy!) and this confirmed that they do indeed have talking ravens.
