You should check this sciatica natural treatment http://cure-sciatica.info
Normally, I would not answer a question like this as my expertise is generally in medication but I had severe sciatica while I was pregnant with my 3rd child (after having had twins) and I had sciatica so bad that I was finding it difficult to walk. I tried massage therapy and physical therapy and could not take medication
I went to the chiropractor and the pain was instantly relieved. My hips and lower back were out of alignment because I had carried twins the year before. On occasion a Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) can also work but they usually only work on one joint at a time - the chiropractor will do your whole back which works faster. Anyone who does not believe in chiropractors will tell you they are quacks - don't listen.
I don't necessarily believe that chiropractors can cure things like diabetes but they can definitely relieve some types of back pain especially if a pinched nerve is involved which is usually the cause of sciatica. Try a reputable chiropractor ASAP!

RE:
can constipation cause sciatica?

2015-08-06 21:36:18 · answer #6 · answered by Anonymous · 0 0

no constipation can't cause sciatica....

The most common cause of sciatica is a bulging or ruptured disc (herniated disc) in the spine pressing against the sciatic nerve. However, sciatica also can be a symptom of other conditions that affect the spine, such as narrowing of the spinal canal (spinal stenosis), bone spurs (small, bony growths that form along joints) caused by arthritis, or nerve root compression (pinched nerve) caused by injury. In rare cases, sciatica can also be caused by conditions that do not involve the spine, such as tumors or pregnancy.

but constipation can lead to other types of gastro problems.....

Yes, it can put extra pressure on the lie of the spine.

I spent a year with an exploded disc, whenever I got constipation from lack of movement, the pain was twice as intense.

If you are suffering from constipation, it is only lack of water. Drink at least 2 liters of bottled stll mineral water every day (anyone who tells you the bottled water is a hype, has no idea what they are talking about)

Trust me, I am not a doctor.

Good luck

I would not think so. Sciatica is caused by the displacement of the hip joint trapping the sciatic nerve. It is usually caused by some sort of strain or jolt or it can be due to over weight

No. Sciatica is usually caused by a pinching of the nerve, or injury to the spine in the area where the sciatic nerve is.
