It plys old titles, like the ones you find at walmart for a dollar, perfecly fine. but throw in a 15 dollar dvd or new release, it trys to play, loads up the player starts to run then stops at a black screen and tells me the dvd may be scratched or damaged. But i can throw the same dvd into my player connected to my tv and they play fine.....anybody know what gives?

Different copy protections or different formats. You can go on-line and try to find the correct codec to play it of alternatively buy a new DVD drive that may be compatible with the newer titles.

4 entire 2 computers a million dvd participant a million sport gadget (The cat loves the dvd participant. She sits in the front of it listening to it whirl. and infrequently tries to play with the tray at the same time as it pops out.) lol ***Wait, the Wii performs them too? i wager I ought to search for advice from the three inch guide. Have yo tried updating the DVD codecs?

does it have anything to do with the region codes. where are you buying dvd's and where did you're computer come from. Don't know if thats the reason but it's all i can think of.
