Sounds to me like depression. You may want to go the natural route and start exercising. Exercise has long been known to decrease depression. Go to the health food store and get some St John's Wort. It is said to be a mood elevator. Personally, if these feelings last more than a few weeks i would consider it a big enough problem to talk to a therapist. They are best informed to determine the best course of action personalized to your needs.

Listen to music, watch movies...sad movies. Watch the news...remember 9/11. Remember Hurricane Katrina, remember our troops over seas for no good reason at all....if all fails watch "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" Cus his heart grew two sizes...I think. He'll tell/show you how.
