Chromosome

Genetic information is organized into a chromosome. A chromosome is a tightly bundled thread of genetic information stored in the nucleus of a cell. The genetic information is organized in the form of genes attached to a protein core. (More on genes later.)

Most organisms have several chromosomes. There are two types of chromosomes: autosomes and sex-linked chromosomes. There are two types of chromosomes because some genetic information is linked to the sex of the organism. Sex-linked traits, like color blindness and gender, are stored in sex-linked chromosomes. All other genetic information is stored in autosomes.

Each species has its own number of chromosomes. Humans have 46 chromosomes.

the genes are present in the DNA of chromosomes and when the chromosomes are separated forming two chromotids,the genes also become two and are transfer-ed in the daughter cell or in meiosis they help to react with the opposite one and transfer his activities and all that stuff in human being and in animals the process of all this is different,.......that i don't know about i have not studied yet...................on my level............sorry
