We were alone in school when she used the 'f' word on a boy in our class because he got more marks than she got. She had never sweared before. So sholud I tell her not do so in the future?

Any other sugestions are welcomed.

If you make a stand for good then people around you will make the effort to not be offencive to you it's to easy to let this sort of thing slip because you are worried about how people will judge you , I'm 32 and do not swear or allow others to swear around me and believe me you only have to tell people a couple of times and they get the idea that they are not to swear when you're there , I've kept up this standard for all my life and it works , there is never any need to swear , anytime ,any place at all , ever , it does no good to anyone , just tell your friend that she should not be swearing and if she does it again you will have to talk to her parents or teacher

Well.. for a start how old is she? And if her swearing really offends you then I'd recommend that you should tactfully mention it to her, calmly of course. She'll probably be understanding and make an effort not to swear in front of you in the future.

If she was just upset at the time because someone had outperformed her, then fair play - everyone's entitled to be grumpy sometimes.

Yes you can talk to her but be ready for her to poke fun at you because you were brought up properly so just choice your words carefully.
or you could just let her get on with it just don't copy her. the easy way

That is a very bad word. how could she say like that!? well... if u really didn't want your friend to swear, just tell her not to do in the future.

Cussing begins when we are little....after we learn not to cry and whine and throw toys. It's the most civil thing we can do when we're hurt or angry sometimes. ;) Dont make a big deal about it.
