All tigers have the potential to become a man-eater, but usually their fear of humans out-weighs their need to eat, especially when they can find easier prey in plenty elsewhere. It is when something happens to the tiger, usually an injury or illness; making it too slow and/or clumsy to catch its usual dinner; that it becomes hungry enough to overcome its fear of the slower, easier-to-catch human. Unfortunately there is little choice in dealing with such an animal. Man-eating tigers and humans cannot mix.

loss of habitat can cause predators to turn to eating humans. As the habitat shrinks so do the animals hunting range, losing their prey and bringng them into close contact with humans. Also, sick or injured animals that can no longer hunt efficiently will turn to an easier option - man.

The reasons are as follows:
- old age
- injuries (broken teeth, nail, etc)
- easy to prey
- to protect their habitat
- they feel more tasty after one successful kill and inspired for another

Hunger for one. Man is destroying their habitat and thus their normal food sources are not there.

They are threatened. It's instinct for survival. We, being at the top of the food chain, should know this.
