Schumi had an unfortunate accident when he first drove through a gravel bed in a tight curve. His frontal collision demolished the car but our friend was lucky. He suffered major injuries but his rehabilitation kept him out of most of that season. He was lucky because not only did he fully recover, he also didn't lose his urge to race. He continues to be the best in the F1 circuit. Way to go Schumi!

Because he was dum, trying to take the win at all costs, and when he saw Villeneuve surging past at the Dry Sac hairpin at the Jerez circuit, he turned in to try to take him out. But he failed, instead he suffered a full lock-up, sliding into the gravel and retiring. Villeneuve nursed his car to the flag, taking 3rd after letting the two McLarens past and winning the Championship by 3 points. Schumacher was disqualified from the WDC due to his action, although many people, including myself, say that the penalty was way too soft. He should have received maybe a 10-race ban, for him to learn his lesson.

He also did the same thing in 1994 against Hill.
Unfortunately no complaint was lodged by Williams, as they considered the season had suffered enough due to Senna's tragic death at Imola earlier in the season.
Otherwise a complaint would definitely been made!!!
Etc SchMACKER ETC.....thanks and good riddance!!!!!!!!

Because he deliberately rammed Jaques Villenueve, putting both of their lives in danger. This was considered to be dangerous driving (funnily enough), and so he was removed from second place in the Driver's Championship, although his race results and points were allowed to stand.
EDIT - in Walter's defence, I think he's got his years confused and is thinking of when Schumacher broke his leg at Silverstone.

In response to the guy who said it's because he had an unfortunate accident; If memory serves after several years he admitted it would have been a fortunate on-purpose if he had gotten away with it.
