I am having a problem at work?

I am having a problem with one of my coworkers. There is a women at my job who use to be my best friend. We use to do the same jobs but now she has gotten a promotion. She now looks down on me and hardly even talks to me and has even stuped as low as to talk about me behind my back and turn a lot of people against me. I tried to talk to her once to smooth this out but she snubbed her nose at me and walked away. I feel really bad because she was my best friend at one time and now I have to work with her like this and I feel very uncomfortable going to work every day now. I don't know what to do or how to make this whole thing better.

If you don't mind sinking to her level, play a childish joke on her (like leave a fart cushion on her chair). At least it might make you feel better for a while! Don’t be disheartened. Try to find some positive point from this. She got a promotion. Might be she don’t want to keep informal relation to junior, but she is doing that in a rough way.

Better you treat her as a big general; be very formal with her, be honest to your work, I do believe you are; forget about your previous friendship within the working space. If possible talk to her outside the office premises.

If she plots any thing against you in the working environment put up this matter to your higher line of authority, obviously in official form. In an office there is no friendship code of conduct.

be cool. it's usual if someone who's gettin' promoted feel afraid. i think she's afraid that you will take her position once she's not awatre. that's why she keeps talking bad things about you. just show her and show evrybode that u're not like that. u're not so easily beaten, but also you have to keep your goodwill to manage a good relation with them. just pretend that nothing happens. i know it's hard, but i've been in that situation b4. it forced me to quit from my previous company. it hurt though, but now i realize that quit is not the best answer. let the river flows to the sea, and they will realize that she just bluffed. and you will find a right time to gain their respect again. just remember, dont let them turns your spirit off...... k? i'm sure you can handle this. ;)
