the definition of a bore? someone who talks about themselves all the time when we are wanting to talk about ourselves! lol

Your friend might be socially insecure and talks cos of nerves or he is a total narcisist
Either way, if you want to have a conversation you need to pull him up over it, in a nice way, if he's a good mate
You could just pull him up short and say 'hey mate, I should be able to contribute 50% to this conversation'
if he doesnt get the message then tell him loud and clear, love hearing all ur news mate, but Ive got some of my own I'd like to share with u

Ive got a sister like this, I phoned her to tell her our father was dead (id nursed him at home with cancer) she just kept wanting to talk about when she saw our uncle who died of cancer!! yes she understood our father had died but she wasnt there so it didnt concern her.
Some people are just so into themselves they dont care who is listening as long as they can talk about themselves

Next time when there's a 3rd person with u, then laughingly tell the 3rd person ur friend's talking all the time and never lets u talk
. it may not help much but at least ur friend'll be aware of his shortcoming and try to improve himself

Why do you want to talk so much? Sounds like the same reason that your buddy does. If you're so bored by him talking, he'll probably be bored of you talking.

it is a natural tendency for most of us to talk about us when some one is ready to listen to us.
