I sat on the train the other day listening to 3 women discussing their co-workers. They were so disparaging and catty, it made me sick.

Then this morning, at the supermarket, there was a really pretty women dressed nicely, and all the other women gave her horrible looks and stared at her up and down.

Now, men don't do these things. How many men do you know get together and gossip and pick apart other men?

Or look them up and down in public like they're judjing them?

It makes me embarassed to be a woman sometimes, and ythis behaviour starts early, in childhood.

So why do we do it? Why are we "bitches" to oneanother?

I work mostly with men so when I do get a chance to work with a woman, sometimes things like this is just glaringly plain for all to see. I think it's more then just jealousy or competition, because men have that too. I think its because we are more emotionally free where females (most) wear their emotions on their sleeves and if you are the same gender you tend to be more relaxed about how you treat the other person. Something like siblings would tell the other off with no problem, but deep down they love each other. Females just do the first part to each other (^.^). That's the shame.

There's just alot of jealous haters in this world, and yea it is really sad. Especially when you really are just a nice person and other women automatically don't like you because they think you look better than them. I've had to deal with this my whole life, and it still gets to me sometimes. I think women as a whole sell themselves short most of the time, there is so much jealousy and competion.... it seems like an endless cycle...and there's no reason for it to be like that.

I KNOW! it's terrible! and I've seen "friends" do this to each other. One minute they're tearing them to shreds and the next their best friends. It sickens me. It's easy to get caught up in it too, the older I get the better I get at avoiding these "***** fests". Women have insecurities that men don't have towards one another.

Sue, that was a really intelligent response. You must be proud.

I agree that it's a competition thing that's ingrained in our make-up. And not the kind on our faces LOL

women who are doing such things are the most insecure person... they are too envious about the other woman that's why they look at her weaknesses and talk about it!!!
