My ipod Nano keeps freezing, so far I have only been able to unfreeze it by letting the battery run out. Are there any other ways to unfreeze it?

Thanks

To reset your iPod nano:

1. Toggle the Hold switch on and off. (Slide it to Hold, then turn it off again.)
2. Press and hold the Menu and Select buttons until the Apple logo appears, about 6 to 10 seconds. You may need to repeat this step.

* Tip: If you are having difficulty resetting your iPod, set it on a flat surface. Make sure the finger pressing the Select button is not touching any part of the click wheel. Also make sure that you are pressing the Menu button toward the outside of the click wheel, and not near the center.

I used to have an iPod that I swear had brain damage out of the box. It used to freeze on me all the time until it finally just gave up on me. The only way I could get mine unstuck was to let it die (run out of battery life). I also found out that the reason it was sticking was glitches in the music I was downloading. It could be that the song has a virus on it that your iPod is freaking out about or whoever put it up didn't copy it over right. Hope you won't have to buy a new one!

Yes called a reset hold menu and play for thirty seconds will reset without losing your songs etc.

However if your Nano is doing this regularly&still in warrenty then take it back could be sysmtom of nasty suprise good luck!

Reset, retry, restart, reinstall, restore!

Find out how to do it here: http://www.apple.com/support/ipod/five_rs/

It happened to mine and I had to restore the factory settings. It's basically just crashing, I think. It's only happened to mine once and has been fine since I did the 5 R's.

yes! this happened to me too and nothing worked, not even plugging it in to charge. press the middle button and menu together (simultaneously) that works for me.
but in general, i don't know about you, the nano was the worst £178 quid i've ever spent!
Anyway, hope that helps:)

get on the freeway going like 60 mph...then drop it out the window...then take it into the apple store and say it was just in your pocket and when you took it out it was like this

(only do this if you have the extended warrenty or else you now have a 200 buck door stop)

all seriusly....put it on hold....take it off hold....then hold down the menue and play butten till it re sets

Pierce protecting film several times.
Heat in microwave at 425 watts for 35 sec.
Peel off film.
Stir gently with a fork.
Return to microwave at 650 watts for 45 sec.

You're good to go.
