Do some research on the internet and check out jobs and job descriptions for careers you think you might like. Below is a link to an article about preparing for a career change.
Also, if possible, take a "vocation vacation." I saw a story on one of the morning talk shows about professionals making career changes and it sounds like a good way to check out a potential new field of work.
Good luck --- secretaries tend to be "people persons" and as such, can fit into any role they have a mind to work hard for; I know, I am an experienced secretary and I've done everything from event planning, project management, marketing and radio promotions in industries as varied as banking to entertainment.

obviously you are not suited to secretary work and want something a little more engaging and/or challanging. What do you enjoy? what do you fancy doing?
have an interview at an agency - they sometimes have good insights as they will want to place you! if not just go to a career advisor - take career tests online, there is a lot you can do but its hard to break into a new career, i know cos im trying it soon lol
