I appreciate that some people are trying to write in English, when it is not their first language; in which case spelling and grammatical errors are to be expected.
However, some people who clearly speak English as their first language, use some ghastly method of expressing their views; I'm not sure it should be called English.
For example, some people write "da" instead of "the", or "wit" instead of "with", or "tru" instead of "true", etc
What is the reason for this? I cannot accept that it is "cool" to do this, as it blatantly is not. In fact, if anything, it makes them sound like an uneducated black person.
So, does anyone know the reason why they do this?

Wow, racist much? Maybe you should put a little more focus on how you think about people that are different from yourself and less on proper English. Yeah, bad grammar is annoying, but the way you think is just plain ignorance.

Having been dad to a teenage daughter .. she would come home with a new word her and her friends made up. Or purposely say things wrong and then they would all giggle.
So, pick a reason, I'll try to list a few.
Poor education in school system.
Enjoys being against the norm.
Thinking it is cool.
and perhaps another dozen or so reason that go into the psychology of why kids do the silly things they do.
A better question would be .. why on Earth would a college level black female instructor try to tell college students that certain tests are biased because some kids do not know what a saucer is when they take the IOWA exam or other state/federal exams.
How much different is that from a police officer or a judge saying that they know the system is not fair but that is the way it is.
DO something about it!
First case .. TEACH the kids what a saucer is. IF you know they will be tested on 'which of these things do not belong' then teach them.
Second case .. if it is your job or the career of your life and you know that things are not right .. then DO something to fix them.
That is what kills me. Teacher that would rather use slang when teaching versus using proper English and insisting that the students do as well.

It all seems to me like a some sort of a fashion these days. What is more, I don't think the 'problem' relates only to the English language for as well as I know some other languages are also affected by this tendency. Words are deliberately misspelled or mispronounced to give them a 'cool-ish' spin or something.
Anyway we have the same thing happening with the Russian language so I think you have to reconciliate yourself to this fact and try and learn how to speak (or write) this new lingo :)

maximum Malaysians will attempt to communicate English - no longer British English, it extremely is a disgusting expression, finished marks to them. The Malaysian training gadget lost its way with language training from the previous due 60s, who prefer that quite everyone study Bahasa Melayu, in itself an estimable objective, regrettably, the the remainder of the international, with the achievable exception of France, seen English simply by fact the worldwide language, and Malaysia fell by skill of the wayside. sometime interior the previous due 90s Malaysia wakened to their blunders and is making an attempt to do somehing approximately it, back finished marks. between the subject concerns is that malaysians tend to do direct translation, from english idiom to malay and vice versa, this motives confusion as the two languages are no longer in all probability nicely matched. further issues are previous shaped slang, and the the tendency to drop the final syllable, the final 2 back brought about by skill of the 30 3 hundred and sixty 5 days hollow in coaching. I applaud malaysians for attempting.

I agree with Rookie 131 ... I would rather speak English improperly ever now and then than be thought of as a racist. Just my opinion.

They are non-conformists and proud of it. They are probably the same people who scream discrimination for one reason or another. People do discriminate against their attitudes and that gives them what they consider as a good excuse to not do better.

They more than likely speak the way they spell. Also, they are too lazy to type the full words. It aggravates me too.

It is totally absurd that people do this. They look completely retarded and screw up the meaning and sometimes legibility of a sentence.
