if u right click the file and choose open with, and choose notepad, u can read parts of whats in the notepad file to get an idea of what the file might b. once u figure out what the file is or might b, u would then have to add the file extension to the file name manually by just typing .exe, .zip, .iso, .rar, etc... at the end of the file name till u find one that works for the file.

double click the mycomputer icon, choose tools, folder options, view, then uncheck "hide extensions for known fle types". You should now see the extension of that file. afterwards do a google search for that particular extension and see what you can find out. A file that large is usually a video sequence, a back-up and so on.
