am an asian woman who has lived in australia, the US and France. the men of these countries treat me much much better than their women... white women condescend to me - as if they were somehow more intelligent or more precious than i am... no, no - it isn't upsetting to me anymore (after 20 years of this nonsense). Just curious to see if anyone else has had that experience

It's not because of your race so much as that you're another female, and subconsciously or viscerally they're competing for the same men.

all women are like that to any woman they percieve as a threat, and all women percieve 90% of the women they meet as a threat regardless of race colour or back ground.
also i think perhaps you are more sensitive due to the fact that you have clearly moved around alot and therefore value having female friends, esp when they are had to get... only problem is that where you go, these women already have friends and so percieve new comers as a threat to their security.
there is a whole politic regarding friendships which can get the back up of a women quicker than the eye can blink.

Females are catty against other females. Maybe you haven't received the same treatment from women of other ethnic backgrounds, but if you're perceived as a threat, you bet your bottom dollar that you'll be treated in a hostile manner by other women.
