It is possible to wet the inside of the hole, then dump the concrete dry mix into the hole, and then add water to the top. Use a shovel handle to tamp the wet concrete to be sure it is compact and all voids are filled. You don't necessarily have to mix it before hand. This does work for simple things like setting post. I've done it many times. Just give it a day to set before disturbing.

Did you know that treated posts rot faster when set in concrete instead of just dirt rammed around them. Put a handful of gravel at the base before you set the post.

Usually they are 60 pound bags and I use one gallon of water.

you need 1) to go to 24'' deep holes- one-half bag per hole..., use 60lb. bags of post hole cement, one bag per hole, approx. 3gal. of water, tamp it in very well, for gawds sake use a level on all 4 sides!!!!!...do not go over 8 ft. from center to center

i suggest that you add a little at a time while mixing that way you can get the proper consistency in your mix

it depends on how thick u want the mix or how fast u want it to dry .normally to 5 gallon buckets should do it.

you add water till its at "usable" consistancy... just keep adding till you can work it nicely enough yet not too much that its too liquidfied
