It actually started with the Movie "Bullit" with Steve McQueen. Movies didn't have much "action" up until that show proved to be a box office smash in 1968. It was a great show "THEN" but watch it now - and since you have become innured to car chases - it's very UNexciting. Since the "OJ" live car chase - network news shows feel that you can grab audiences with this type of entertainment. What will be the next money maker?
