There are many causes of diarrhea, ranging from food, food allergies, irritable bowel, various types of parasities, sugar consumption. I suggest using one of the many OTC drugs available on the market, Lomotil as an example and its safety margin is very good. Stop all leafy vegetables and especially fresh fruit. While gatorade helps replace lost electrolytes it will not stop diarrhea by itself. If you are using any antibiotic, stop the use...many antibiotics can cause diarrhea. Eat some yoghurt. Kaopectate is very good and safe too (I don't like the taste personally...sort of chalky). There are two symptoms you should pay attention to...a fever...or the skin that forms paper-like creases when lifted, instead of rounded folds....There are many causes and what I have suggested is strictly palliative. None of the above will be effective in dysentery or colitis, so if the fever or the skin creases appear...it is time to consult your own physician. I am a physician and anything more advice would need both lab tests or a physical examination.

Ok only thing I can think to tell you is to eat lots of FIBER and maybe try eating Yogurt - should help
Drink lots of MILK
When I was pregnant I drink about a gallon of milk a day -which led to me being Constipated -LOL
So I would assume that the more milk you drink the more likely it will regulate your bowel movement back to normal
Look dont panic - its just diareah - You are going to be fine unless you start having blood in your stools there is no need to panic right now - Stressing your self out is not good for you right now - I should now -I used to stress out so bad during my pregnancy I ended up causing my sugar levels to get high & got Gestational Diabetes
Just take a deep breath, relax & go drink some milk - Eat lots of Fiber like Cereals or ask your Dr. if you can take a fiber supplement - I'm only guessing all of this will - ask your Dr or nurse first if they would advise you to do that
I really hope you feel better soon -
Best Wishes for you & Baby
Congrats on becoming a mommy
I know how stressful pregnancy can be & all the changes your body goes through - It can be scary - Just have patience & everything will be alright
God Bless

I agree with you totally. I have had diarreah for one week, but I think mine might be related to a virus (not sure). I am drinking a substance called Gastrolyte, which has stopped my diarreah and helped with my dehydration a little, but God knows why we have it? Im the same and I am worried about the baby too. I have had no sympathy from the doctors either and they are telling me to just get on with it and return to work? Dont know how? How many weeks are you?

This probably will sound wierd, but I promise it helps. Coconut! Any way you like it. You can eat coconut macaroons, or a mounds candy bar, or coconut for baking or whatever. There is something in it that will help "regulate" you. Usually less than 24 hours.
I had this problem last month and it worked great. I am not pregnant, but I was sick and couldn't stay out of the bathroom.

You should go to the er or doctor as soon as possible. You are most likely dehydrated. And FROM Experience you can put yourself into labor by being dehydrated. The doctor will most likely admit you to the hospital

Pepto Bismol contains aspirin I think, is that bad for jr?
If not take a big glug. Works for me.

When asking the first question you need to put in all the info instead of just part of it if you want a full answer.
