i have a generic usb drive (or a thumb drive or pen drive) which wont work on win98. can any one advice driver

I've got one of those too. I found my driver by going to the website of the manufacturer of the drive (in my case it was Sandisk)

no drivers are necessary. you have problem with your operating system , check it out in another operating system.you will get that doubt cleared
