when my girl pals call me: "Hi girl!"
when my guy friends call me: "Hey sup?"
when my bf calls me: "Hey baby"

Yes!!!!! Working at a retail store you just get used to answering the phone with the same line. I used to do it all the time at my house. And sometimes at work when i would answer the phone i would say 'Hello?' Its so hectic to just switch over!

First words alway Hello even with caller ID when I know who calling me I still say Hello because I think that is the correct way to answer. When at work it's Hello this blah, blah how can I help you.

At home I will answer :
"Yes, please" if I am in a serious mood.
"Hello, Good morning (or ___depending on time) if I am in a normal mood.
" Haloooo!!" if I am in a witty mood.
"Lllllooo!" if I am sleepy.
At work I answer:
" Hello,this is _______Department."
I experienced answering the phone at home the way I answer when I am at work, It happens usually when I pick up to answer the phone while my mind is busy.

I generally start with Hello when I am at home. When I am at work it depends on the name of the company.
I start with the company's name and say this is ______ can I help you?

I used to be a receptionist for a club and one night at home I answered with 'Welcome to Vikings Lanyon, Louise speaking'. Fortunately it was someone I worked with so they laughed at me. At home normally just 'Hello?'.
