I'm 19 years old and really want to be a star. I know that sounds lame but I'm musically trained and have written lots of songs...I think i have a chance. But is it kind of unrealistic seeing as most pop stars start their careers at like 16? I know what I have to do but i am just wondering if i should just give up already.

giving up shouldn't even be in your vocabulary...You either do it or you don't. If you don't try the things that you want to do, then you'll never know. I for one say go for it and if you kick a** in the music industry, send me an autographed copy of your cd...i'll be waiting. Good luck to you.

If the wish to become a star is your main motivation to do music, it's probably gonna make you a frustrated person! You need to just love doing music whether it's gonna make you a star or just a plague to your neighbors;-) hehe
Anyway; the age it's not a problem. If you love to do music, I would say try it out.
