Ok so I had my iTunes library on a PC. The PC crashed, and when I got it fixed, iTunes was uninstalled. I tried to reinstall it but since my version was updated it wouldn't let me do it...anyway, the question is...if I get a new computer and plug in my iPod, can I import my whole collection (4800 songs) onto iTunes? Keep in mind there are songs that I downloaded, put onto iTunes previously, then deleted (songs were still on iPod, but the (!) is next to the song on the Library). Can anyone help me?

I'd have to disagree with the previous two answers because I believe that Apple just resolved this problem. First of all, you need iTunes 7.0. You can download it for free from http://www.apple.com/itunes. Then plug in your iPod as normal, with iTunes up and running. When you plug it in, iTunes 7.0 should ask you a question along the lines of this: "iTunes has detected songs on your iPod that are not located in your music library. Would you like to transfer them now?" Then just click "Yes" and your library should be transfered to your computer. NOTE: I have not yet tried this, so it's not a guaranteed method, but it's worth a try. Good luck!
